Based in a quiet residential cul-de-sac in the Thornhill area of Cardiff, Buttons and Bows provides the highest quality of childminding care. We have a conservatory which is used as a children’s playroom and contains age appropriate toys and books. We are also fortunate to have a well equipped, self contained garden and try to ensure that children in my care are able to have outdoor play on a regular basis.

At Buttons and Bows I aim to provide a safe, secure, stimulating and caring environment, catering for every child's individual needs. I allow children to discover that learning is fun through focused and spontaneous play activities in order to help develop their full potential.

I encourage them to respect each other and each other's possessions. I aim to increase children's self-confidence and self-esteem, enabling them to become more independent.

Parental partnership and involvement is highly valued in order to ensure minimum disruption to the child's home routine. Parents can be assured that their children will be loved and cared for. Communication is highly important and parents have access to their own child’s personal file as well as daily report sheets or diaries. To help build this partnership I communicate extensively with parents including daily sheets, questionnaires, and newsletters. Most importantly I am available for discussion with parents or carers at any mutually convenient time.

 I am registered by CSSIW, hold insurance with Morton Michel, and have 15 years worth of experience and enthusiasm. I believe that I provide quality and high standard childcare with constant continuity in a home environment, which is unrivalled by any nursery setting.

Our daily routine allows the children to enjoy a free-flowing day with choice and child-led activities at the forefront of their learning experiences. They are given the opportunity to explore the environment around them and progress and develop with lots of nurturing and tender loving care to encourage children to become independent little people.

I challenge myself to continually evolve and improve and am open to parental input in every area and consider myself to be a highly professional CSSIW registered childminder.

All I ask is that you provide nappies and toiletries for your child along with formula milk and any packed lunches. Snacks, drinks and activities are all included in your fees and I only charge for the days that I am open throughout the year.
